iTrieve Usage Benefits
iTrieve offers benefits to the general public, managers and users within organizations, and organizations providing iTrieve to their client users.
Benefits to the General Public: the makers of iTrieve plan to offer insights into soclal media, city-wide locations, governmental databases and other types of general-public data sources. Finally, regular users of the Internet and of mobile devices will be able to speak or type plain-language requests for specific information, such as "closest drugstore offering flue shots".
Benefits to Organizational Users: A great benefit to organizational users of iTrieve is its delivery of actionable information: Managers and information workers using plain language requests can select and filter data to provide very specific information necessary for decision making. No more waiting for IT personnel to write user reports.
Benefits to IT personnel: Since iTrieve delivers reliable actionable information to the organization's business managers and information users, IT personnel can concentrate on more mission-critical projects. IT personnel can utilize ad hoc investigation, looking at various data resources either within a single table entity or through "investigative views" (using plain language requests that combine various table entities), without having to write any query scripts or reports. Data quality investigation: Investigative "poking around" is valuable for IT personnel wanting to explore a new database to assess its data quality.
The Organization's "bottom line" Benefits: The organization providing iTrieve to its business users or organizational users gains many valuable benefits itself (including "bottom line" benefits), as shown by type or size of organization:
Small and medium size Business:
Do-It-Yourself Business Intelligence: As a small-to-medium business owner, you need to be able to make vital business decisions based on the information in your company database or spreadsheets, but you may not have the IT resources to write business reports or graphs for you and your employees. iTrieve can provide actionable information that will help you run your business more profitably.
Large Organizations:
Multi-Tenancy, SuperAdmin Control and Enterprise Views: iTrieve supports three features that are vital to a large organization's ability to manage its organization hierarchy and its enterprise databases: Multi-Tenancy, SuperAdmin Control and Enterprise Views.
Multi-Tenancy: iTrieve supports a vital element for managing multiple databases in large, multi-department organizations, called multi-tenancy. Using iTrieve, IT managers can set up a hierarchy of organizations under the parent organization. Each organizational unit, or "tenant", contains its own set of users, user groups, databases, models and views. iTrieve's cloud-based metadata repository enforces multi-tenancy by utilizing an advanced data architecture feature called "Entity Unification" that ensures that metadata entities that "share" a common key attribute will always enforce the same key column value(s). iTrieve's multi-tenancy maintains tight control and separation of data so that only specified users in one tenant organization can access the database elements in that particular organization.
SuperAdmin Control: Coupled with its multi-tenancy feature, iTrieve allows an IT-designated "SuperAdmin" the means for setting up organization users, user groups, database models and user views, and further enables the SuperAdmin to restrict access to database model views to only specific user groups within each tenant organization.
Enterprise Views: Within each organization in the organization hierarchy, designated Enterprise Admins can use iTrieve recursively to obtain actionable information on the usage of iTrieve users at any organizational sub-level unit beneath that organization. This outstanding feature, called Enterprise Views, allows not only IT managers but also top business managers and organization executives to see who uses iTrieve and when, the types of requests created and/or run by user, by user group, by database, etc.
Application providers:
Using iTrieve as an application management tool: You can use iTrieve as a management tool for retrieving actionable information on your application for your managers and even your application Value Added Resellers (VARs).
Additional user feature: You can also offer iTrieve as an additional user feature as a means of differentiating your application in your market segment. Given the ease of use and the value of actionable information to your user base, you can increase your revenues as you "sell" the iTrieve enhancement to your existing users. Even more important to your bottom line is to use the "bolt-on" iTrieve enhancement to increase sales of your basic application.
Multi-Tenancy and Enterprise Views: As described above, iTrieve's powerful multi-tenancy feature, coupled with Enterprise Views, will allow you to see who's using iTrieve to request actionable information on your own application database.
Client Database Integration iTrieve's powerful multi-tenancy feature, coupled with the underlying Taxonomy-based Metadata Architecture (described under "Technology on the main menu"), provides an outstanding feature for Application providers who need to incorporate new clients' databases into their applicatiion's metadata. While there are many ETL ("Extract, Transform and Load") products on the market for integrating data from a source database with metadata objects in a target database, iTrieve's ETL solution is simpler and straightforward: the Application provider's designated iTrieve SuperAdmin loads the new client database into a separate database model in the iTrieve metadata repository, and then matches entities in the new client database model with those in the native Application model. This process then creates a fully-integrated database model for the new client organization -- thus integrating the new client database into the native Application. Then, utilizing iTrieve's multi-tenancy feature, the new client users can retieve actionable information through iTrieve Semantic Search technology (described above).
Value Added Resellers and Systems Integrators:
Using iTrieve to generate Revenue: As a VAR or SI, you can make money in two ways with iTrieve: 1) by selling the product to your market segment prospects, and 2) by providing first-line support as a "Virtual SuperAdmin" for your iTrieve client installations.
Reselling iTrieve: As a VAR in a targeted geographic market or in a targeted industry, you're always looking for the right opportunity to pick up a new application to offer your prospective clients. If you already have an established client user base, you can "sell to your current users": perhaps the least-cost Sales program there is.
Offering IT "Virtual SuperAdmin" support: If your client base consists of small to medium businesses, you can offer your IT Services as a Virtual SuperAdmin in support of your iTrieve installations.
(See the explanation of iTrieve's Multi-Tenancy above).
Government Organizations:
Do-It-Yourself Business Intelligence: As a government department or entity, you share some of the same "pain-points" as a small-to-medium business owner these days: you probably have limited IT resources but you still need actionable information to carry out your organization's charter. You'll find iTrieve to be your "Go-to" app, not only for your own department employees but for the various "stakeholders" and users of the services of your bureau or department.
Cloud vendors:
Differentiating yourself: As a cloud computing vendor or cloud services provider, you are probably experiencing the inevitable proliferation of competitors into the "lastest 'Hot' IT Market". iTrieve offers a potential competitive differentiator: while other cloud vendors and service providers offer the same "back-up and restore" features for their clients' relational databases, you can offer the natural next step: ad hoc user access to the cloud "backup" databases. This is the "natural" next step for several reasons, the most obvious being the offloading of SQL queries against the client on-site operational database.
Hosting iTrieve metadata repository and client databases: iTrieve's underlying database architecture is "distributed cloud-client based": its metadata repository is cloud-based while its "targeted client databases" may either reside on a client's site or can be cloud-based as well. One of the iTrieve Solution Packages is to bundle the iTrieve metadata repository with cloud-based target relational databases (See "Solutions" on the main menu section of the home iTrieve site).
Special benefit to all iTrieve Customers!:
The makers of iTrieve are planning an App Store that will allow all iTrieve customers a forum for their iTrieve applications with exposure to the world of App buyers.
The App Store is made possible because all of the iTrieve web pages and screens are being "mobified", with special screens available for the most popular classes of smart phones and tablet PCs.
